Degree Program:

Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Accounting training prepares you for entry level accountant opportunities in business, industry and finance by mastering principles, operations and computerized accounting systems. Grounded in basic business concepts you’re introduced to management, marketing and financial practices. The skills you gain in ORT’s Associate Dregree program open career opportunities as a Junior Accountant, Junior Auditor, Tax examiner trainee or Cost clerk.

Certificate Programs:

ORT's Chicago Computerized Accounting Certificate curriculum readies you for entry level support roles in financial services industries and business accounting. Emphasis is placed on using computers to increase productivity in financial applica­tions; spreadsheets, accounting packages and database management systems. You will be qualified for high demand positions such as Accounting Clerk, Bookkeeper, Data Processing Clerk and Payroll Clerk.

The Chicago Medical Office Assistant program gives you skills to perform basic office support duties. We emphasize marketable general clerical/receptionist skills and medical office knowledge and procedures. Your computer skills will improve medical office productivity using word processing, medical transcription, records filing, data entry, insurance billing, accounting and office management know-how. Graduates are in demand at medical offices, health care institutions, clinics and HMO’s.

Our Chicago Medical Assistant program trains you for an entry level position in healthcare emphasizing back office clinical procedures. You’ll learn routine administrative and support clinical tasks. Instruction includes greeting patients, updating/filing patient records, scheduling appointments, arranging for hospital admission and laboratory services. Clinical training encompasses taking medical histories, recording vital signs, working with blood, giving injections, explaining treatment to patients, preparing patients for and assisting with examinations. After completion, an externship allows you to practice in a working setting that often leads to employment.

Our Chicago Pharmacy Technician training program meets marketplace professional standards. After becoming oriented to pharmacy practice, you’ll learn about computer use in institutional and retail pharmacies. The curriculum includes prescription receipt/screening, medication preparation, supply distribution, pharmaceutical purchasing, inventory control, insurance billing/payment collection, pharmacy calculations/equipment and maintenance, ethics and federal/ state regulations. Career opportunities for licensed pharmacy technicians range from independent and chain drug stores to outpatient hospitals and other healthcare facilities.

The Chicago Computer Support and Networking Technology certificate program trains you to be a qualified entry level Computer Support Technician and Network Administrator. Graduates are able to repair PC’s and install, troubleshoot, operate and administer PC hardware, software and networks; all highly in demand skill sets. Other career options include computer technician, technical sales and help desk support.

Our Chicago Computer Aided Design and Drafting program prepares you to become a proficient entry level CADD/Drafting operator using AutoCAD software. The curriculum covers 2D CADD, CADD simulation and extensive 3D modeling. You will generate portfolio drawings to help you secure employment. There’s a powerful need for CADD professionals a variety of fields including architecture, construction, aerospace, automo­tive, manufac­turing, electronics, animation, simulation and engineering.

The Chicago Computer Graphics and Desktop Publishing training program prepares you for entry level employment as a Graphic Designer/Desktop Publisher. In addition to layout and production, digital photography, image editing and branding/advertising concepts; an introduction to Web design and animation rounds out the experience. ORT graduates may be hired by any business engaged in marketing, business development, publishing and communications from advertising agencies to print/on-line publishers.
